When Women's Healthcare Direct asked me if I would be a referee for their service I was taken by surprise.

 

Why? Because I am an everyday person. I am a mother of two 'lively' teenage boys, a Business Manager for an International Company and a nurse by background. It then dawned on me why I had been asked...

 

I first met Professor John Erian in 1988 when I commenced my first staff nurse post in Theatres at Farnborough Hospital after completing a Theatre Course at Kings College Hospital London. I was teamed to work with Professor Erian each week as he was given a dedicated team to work with him as the procedures that he carried out were innovative, complicated and very new.

 

We built up a very professional working relationship that was built on trust, mutual respect, hard work and determination. This came with its own professional challenges but the satisfaction that came with the knowledge that I had been part of a team that had given the best care to each patient was immense. He always gave 100% to his patients and always considered what the best course of treatment was for each individual patient.

 

I unfortunately needed surgery and of course...he was my Surgeon of choice. One of the factors that influenced this decision was that I know John will always ensure that best clinical practice is maintained at all times. He also then went onto ensure that my two sons were brought into the world safely.

 

Our paths continued to cross throughout our careers. We met again when I became his scrub nurse for his private practice and I then went onto be his Theatre Manager. He has latterly become one of the Consultants that I visit within my Sales roles. He is always someone I will go to when I need a professional and honest opinion about new products etc.

 

I have watched John's career develop and I have been so impressed that he has led the way in so many areas of his work. He has always remained passionate about the work that he does. He has always been at the forefront of innovations and developments within his speciality. He is well respected among his colleagues and his peers, continuing to achieve credibility as a senior statesman in his field. He has always been very keen to teach and share his knowledge, skills and expertise.

 

On a personal level he has always continued to be committed to his family and friends.

 

In conclusion, I have no hesitation in recommending this service to my friends, family and colleagues based on the fact that I know that Professor Erian is the person delivering this very valuable service.
