Richard Henry MB, BCh, FRCOG

Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist

 

Richard Henry is a senior consultant in Obstetrics and Gynaecology with 20 years experience in NHS and Private Practice. Apart from general Gynaecology his specialised areas of interest and expertise include minimally invasive Hysteroscopic and Laparoscopic surgery, Gynaecological oncology, Colposcopy and complex pelvic floor surgery.

 

Following medical school at St Thomas' Hospital, London with other undergraduate training in Dublin and Johannesburg, Richard Henry then underwent postgraduate training in Bristol, Adelaide and Sydney as well as Queen Charlottes/Chelsea Hospitals, The Royal Marsden Hospital and St Thomas' back in London before being appointed to a consultant practice at Poole General and the Royal Bournemouth NHS trusts in 1988.

 

Richard is heavily involved in the teaching and training of medical students and junior doctors from within the UK as well as overseas. A Royal College Tutor and Program Training Director for many years he also is a regular examiner for the Final MRCOG examination. He is also a recognised trainer for the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology.

Richard has written or co-authored numerous publications and presentations in his field both in the UK and abroad. He is involved in numerous UK and International Research Clinical Trials.

Apart from NHS practice, Richard has Office and admitting rights at The BMI Harbour Hospital, Poole and The Bournemouth Nuffield Hospital.
