Nick Hill MB BS, MD, FRCOG

Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist

 

Mr. Nick Hill is an established Consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist who has worked at The Princess Royal University Hospital for the past 13 years. He has a Specialist interest in Minimal Access Surgery, especially in the treatment of Endometriosis and Menstrual problems. His other interests include Infertility, Urinary Incontinence and Colposcopy. He is a British Society of Colposcopy accredited Colposcopist.

 

Nick is nationally & internationally recognised as a leading expert in the use of the Helica Thermal Coagulator for the treatment of Endometriosis. He has recently published the largest world series of over 1000 patients treated with this device. This technique is increasingly recognised as a safe, effective alternative to Laser treatment for the treatment of endometriosis. The Helica has recently been introduced to the USA after being given FDA approval.

 

Nick is a Member of The Minimal Access Gynaecology Team with his colleague Professor John Erian. Together they have championed the concept of Day Surgical Techniques. Together they run a Day Case Laparoscopic Sub-total Hysterectomy service allowing patients to be safely treated laparoscopically avoiding the traditional open surgical hysterectomy procedure.

 

Nick is a recognised Preceptor in Hysteroscopic & Laparoscopic surgery for the Royal College of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists. He is actively involved in training being a member of the South Thames Specialist Training Committee. He has presented widely both in Europe and America on a wide range of subjects related to Obstetrics & Gynaecology. He is currently researching on the use of Novasure & Thermachoice as Endometrial Ablative techniques for the treatment of heavy periods.

 

Nick is the Clinical Director and a Senior Consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist and Minimal Access Surgeon at the Princess Royal University Hospital, Kent.

 

Nick has admitting privileges at The Chelsfield Park BMI Hospital, Orpington, Kent and The Sloane BMI Hospital in Beckenham, London.
