Women's Healthcare Direct receive HONcode accreditation

 

Women's Healthcare Direct are pleased to announce their accreditation with, and subscription to, the HONcode principles of the Health On the Net Foundation.

 

Women's Healthcare Direct believe strongly in raising the quality of medical and health information available on the world wide web to the highest standards and see our accreditation with HON as a clear indication of our mission to provide the right and best information for our users.

 

A little information on HON and the HONcode:-

The Health On the Net Foundation (HON), created in 1995, is the leading organization promoting and guiding the deployment of useful and reliable online medical and health information, and its appropriate and efficient use. Created in 1995, HON is a non-profit, non-governmental organization, accredited to the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations.

 

The HONcode sets a universally recognised standard for responsible self-regulation. It defines a set of voluntary rules designed to help a Web developer site practices responsible self-regulation and to make sure a reader always knows the source and the purpose of the information he or she is reading. These guidelines encourage the authority, complementarity, confidentiality, proper attribution, justifiability and validity of the medical advice and information provided. Furthermore, sites that subscribe to the HONcode commit themselves to providing transparent information on site sponsorship and clearly separating advertising and editorial content.
